49ers set up interview with Josh McDaniels

Despite the heart wrenching pain for forty niner fans who will even wonder over where all the seats of Candlestick Park will end up, and also feel towards the departure of Harbaugh, there is a bit of a positive note for us to end this year. Josh McDaniels the current Offensive Coordinator for the New England Patriots, who also spent a year and a few games as head coach for the Denver Broncos a career basically ruined by Jay Cutler being a Prema donna douche, though he will get another chance at head coaching as he has agreed to an interview with the 49ers. Though I am sure a lot of Broncos fans still have a grudge against him I am quite certain he is going to be a valuable asset to the 49ers if the front office doesn't fuck it up. It could be the best news forty niners fans hear for the rest of the year, though jokes aside we will see how the interview goes and we can only hope he will have a positive affect on the offense of our favorite gold and red team. Happy New Years y'all, Panda Out!!!!

Notre Dame looks good in Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

Notre Dame showed up strong in one of the multitude of meaningless bowl games we will see in the next few days, though despite that they shook off a certain jinx they tended to hold when playing against SEC opponents. LSU could have won it if they didn't have trouble with their field goal squad, one fake FG that was reviewed though ended up seeming like they had made it though the video footage could not reverse the call as their was no shot that showed the players knee as the ball seemed to break the plane, another FG seemed to be blocked by the back of the helmet of an LSU player as the kicker kicked it too low, sort of a line drive to the back of his head. For a meaningless bowl game it was a great game, Notre Dame broke the 28-28 tie with a last second field goal to win the game and look to possibly be able to bring back some of their Juniors, as well as quite a few young players with alot of talent. Sports Panda out, I will return after the next meaningless bowl game that will be on soon.

After a bit of Holiday Vacation Sports Panda returns to the keyboard

In sports this is possibly the most exciting time of year, other than perhaps the magic mustered by March Madness, and after being starved of sports for about a week with a lack of WI-FI access this Panda is starving for the Bowl games and plethora college basketball games that are viewable, not to mention NBA games littered among all the rest. Even with such odd bowl game names like the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, and the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, this is like heaven for a Panda on vacation, not to mention that after the beginning of the first Division 1 College Football Playoffs, we get the Wild Card weekend in the NFL. Cam Newton is still searching for his first playoff win, we have the classic rivalry Baltimore against Pittsburgh, the battle of young QB's Dalton vs Luck as both the Bengals and Colts try to make a run into these playoffs, also we have Detroit fighting against Dallas which should be a battle at the line and we shall see which Tony Romo shows up on Sunday. This holiday season is going great with all these sports to watch, and this Panda will try to catch what I can and I am sure my keyboard will be working overtime, as well as my liver.

Michigan wins for once, gets Harbaugh!

Sad day, for this Panda, the 49ers fucked up no question, but as I watch the Liberty Bowl and try to catch back a little bit of writing. I see the possible rebuilding of a Michigan team that those in Ann Arbor have been waiting for for all too long, though as a 49er fan it makes it a tough pill to swallow, and last time I checked I like pills, at least the good ones. Jim Harbaugh is the reconstruction expert, he rebuilt San Diego, Stanford, and of course San Francisco in the Pro's, he will most likely be creating another piece of magic in Michigan his Alma Mater which can only be a little coup de grace helping his decision to escape the drama in San Francisco that can only be blamed upon Greg Roman, though apparently they are all blind in the front office. I can't help it I will always root for that idiot to be fired, though on the other note I will root for Harbaugh's success as long as he stays out of the PAC12. It will be great because it is Bowl Game season, and as  per usual Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!

Blazers make the Spurs look old in triple overtime bout

Spurs fighting for position in a very tough western conference, seem to have their backs against the wall as such an injury prone team has faced two straight triple overtime defeats, why? Well other than alot of young stars like the bad guy from the ninja turtles, and some kid called triple beam green, I think there are a few other assholes no one likes. Who cares, the spurs are done, the french son of bitch is injured half the time, the cocaine smuggling argentinian has no juice left due to rampant drug use, and the over the hill retard we lovingly call timmy has no more support to make his lessening retard strength seem powerful.
Luckily people actually like this Portland Oregon team and not only for being very hip when it comes to obscure points hipsters bring up, we like this team because we are sick of Jurassic Park trailers that people cheer for, we like the youth the unity, and the coach that doesn't seem to be dealing poorly through his most recent enema.
The Blazers looked great tonight, fighting through animosity and truly showing that the west will soon be won by a younger breed while these fossils should move on, if not they will only embarrass themselves.
Rip City!!!!

Southern Oregon University Football wins the NAIA National Championship

This is a strange day for this panda as my usual means of gathering information on a game, be it internet radio, espn stat sheets, or various tricks I use to keep myself ahead of the curve are completely unavailable due to an International blasé attitude towards NAIA Championships. To be fair I would not be the least bit interested in writing about this if it were not a team from my town of birth as well as the place I grew up to be the Panda you all know and love, not to mention a few drug addled years of attendance at the home of Raiders.
I do know a few things about the game, first the Quarterback Austin Dodge went for a stunning 429 yards through the air and three touchdowns, the Raiders forced six picks and eight total turnovers by their opponent Marian. Winning the game in a final score of 55-31, though with a lead of 38-10 at halftime it was all but over at that point. For Southern Oregon it is the first time they have won the National Championship and notably the first time they've made it past the Quarterfinals, it's a great win for the program and is sure to insure better recruits in the future. Though most of all a great win for that small mountain town of Ashland in the beauty and majestic calm of Southern Oregon.
This Panda will definitely lift a glass or two in the vague direction of our NAIA Football National Champions!

Panda is late on his deadline and Mariota wins Heisman

The most gracious of Heisman winners could not be asked for, though this particular Panda had no doubt he was going to victorious in this one of the most prestigious of awards, the rest of the sports world had to at least debate about handing it of to some lesser deserving player. I found this so completely ridiculous that I developed a rare yet reoccurring bout of writers block that took a two liter of scotch and some pills to put to sleep. None the less I was late on my deadline to give the great quarterback his melange of words you could only consider pandaesque, and for that I apologize to the young star of a phenomenal Oregon Ducks football squad, and on top of all the records he has broken (both for PAC12 and U of O history) he has managed to collect a college degree in only three years of attendance at Oregon, smart and talented, look out NFL. Oregon gets a chance in the Rose Bowl to give the Seminoles their first loss of the season, and if they do that a chance to win the National Championship, this is a great year for Duck fans, those of us who sneer at umbrellas, and almost enjoy getting their hair wet when walking through the weather even if we are far from those beautiful post card views that made us that way. Cheers to Mariota and cheers to the Ducks, and good luck on New Years Day, and in case you forgot, Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!!!

Memphis ends Warriors streak of 16 with great defense

The Warriors looked a little stale Tuesday night, though without their two big's David Lee and Andrew Bogut they were looking a bit small in the paint. Though even so they allowed Memphis to go on 20-0 streak at one point in the first half, and late in the game were not hustling back on defense even though it was the now or never time to get some stops to attempt to win the game. It is understandable that a team after 16 straight victories will get a little laiser faire, but this does show that if they truly want to be a championship caliber team they certainly still have some work to do. These are the type of losses where the film will be used to display weaknesses they need to work on and I have no doubt that Steve Kerr will have a field day with a decent part of this game's film, as any good coach would.
It isn't all bad, the season is only a quarter of the way done, and for that first quarter they are 3rd in the league in both points per game and rebounds per game, also sitting nicely at 4th in assists per game, and not too shabby at 9th in points allowed per game. Oh yeah and they are still a game up for the best record in the NBA, not to mention Steph Curry is 5th in the league for points per game and tied for seventh in assists per game. Don't get me wrong they are an excellent team, but in every loss you will see the weaknesses of a team and Tuesday night we saw a few of the Warrior's, also alot of the Grizzlies strengths, this Panda cannot wait to see these teams play again for with those big's healthy it will be a showdown to the end that could result in some overtime.
Happy Holidays Panda Out!!!

Cav's miss LeBron in loss at Thunder

LeBron would've helped in this game, though the Cav's showed some heart throughout the game even as they were down by 20 going into the 4th, they came back to make it a game, even with the loss they show they can play against the best. A 103 to 94 loss is not too bad without your superstar on the floor, there were times it looked like the Cav's could pull this game in their favor, yet that was not the case. They are a growing team that seems on the edge of being able to do whatever they wish upon the floor even without the King's leadership, so chalk up another loss for this bunch but keep it in the back of your mind's that they are on the brink of being a franchise that is unstoppable and the season is still young. Also very glad that Kyrie was not injured after being helped of the floor towards the end of the first half, seems like it was only a bit of a knee bump in the end. Even through this loss you can see a hungry team ready to do what it takes to get into the playoffs and from there who knows.

LeBron helps keep CAV's streak alive

So the King has had trouble with things about the cause, I personally don't care, he is great hating on the pigs, but do we have time to watch him play? For fucks sake he is playing great throughout all this bullshit about whatever these assclowns that think they write news, or is it sports news, not sure anymore.
Well to be fair other than the Warriors, the Cavaliers are the best team in the NBA, though there are probably a lot of Spurs fans that will hate on me for this statement. To be fair the world hates the spurs, they are an annoying team, so there is that. Keep on going CNN ignoring how the Cav's are starting to play like a NBA champion while everyone is hoping that the spurs will be the victims of a brilliant airplane crash. Did I go too far, I think not, go anti san antonio/texas, because fuck texas!!!
The King Rules!!!! And no one likes Texas!!!!!

Mariota favorite for Heisman on Saturday

Mariota seems to be a lock to win the Heisman in New York on Saturday night, we shall see but this Panda believes he fits all the criteria necessary for winning the coveted trophy, as Oregon fans prepare for Mariota to make his announcement of him going to the NFL as it seems the best timing for his career in football.
Oregon held onto their number two seed in the College Football Playoffs Rankings so they will play the undefeated Florida State team on the first day of the New Year, and this black and white furred animal certainly believe Oregon can give the Seminoles their first lost of the season. The shocker is that Ohio State got in that fourth spot, though I believe they deserve it, we shall see if they can take down the only SEC team in this the first Final Four of College Football, we will always have some debate over how this was voted in, but no one really can care at this point because it's all lip service.
So duck fans let's root for our Oregon team, and hope that Nick Saban goes and fuck's it all up some how, because fuck a team that has an elephant for there mascot and are called the Crimson Tide, personally I believe you should not have this type of confusion on what your team is considered to be, and just because this state has a few miles of coast line on the Gulf of Mexico.
To break it all down, we are all a little less pissed at the CFP in comparison of how upset people and the media were towards the BCS in the past so due to classic comparisons between the least of two evils I think this first year of the CFP went well even if humans are generally going to hate change even if they hate the alternative. And per usual, Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!!!

Ducks get sweet revenge, Mariota cements his Heisman bid

The Ducks were dominant on Friday night for the PAC12 championship, they started off a bit slow for this quick paced Oregon team, but towards the end of the first half it was quite apparent that they were going to win the game short of a very dramatic turn around in the flow of the game. Mariota was sensational getting 313 yards passing with two passing touchdowns, and 33 yards on the ground with 3 rushing touchdowns, basically the best job interview you could have if he is applying for a job in the NFL next year, also it gives him a great shot at the Heisman this year. Though with Alabama dominating Mizzou in the SEC championship Oregon will probably hold on to the 2 spot in the CFP rankings, this could be good seeing as it looks as if they will play TCU to get into the National Championship game, most likely an easier game then playing unbeaten Florida State. All in all this could be the best Ducks team I have ever seen, they are showing their power on the defensive end of the field as well as their very apparent strengths on offense, the coaching staff have completely recovered from the loss of Chip Kelly to the NFL, and seem to be able to fight through anything in this season. We won't know until Tuesday where everyone will stand in CFP rankings but we shall see who the Ducks will face in the first final four of college football. As per usual keep that whiskey flowing, and ofcourse Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!!!

Ducks get chance at revenge and the coveted playoff spot

As I try my best to kill this Parisian Plague with healthy doses of scotch and 7up, I await the passionate battle between the assholes from Arizona against the team that is once again this years ruler of Oregon, though all that is missing is their rule over the rest of the PAC12. Nothing to do but search desperately for a free streaming site and to curse UCLA for blowing their chance at making this a much less stressful event for Duck fans, thanks LA you can't do shit right.
Why should Oregon win, well I could spout out a bunch of stats but I'm too goddamn sick for that, they should win because Phil Knight poured enough money into this team to make them top of the line and it is about time they get into a position to win the National Title, and because fuck the SEC!
Plus the O line is healthy, and I believe Arizonians are scared of the bay area and will not show to Levi Stadium, which in contrast Oregon alums actually live in the bay area making Levi's Stadium similar to a home game. Also there is this young man called Marcus Mariota and he should have enough protection tonight to be able to show those Heisman voters who should be lifting the trophy in New York, so there it is my post on this game that should be a good one. Happy Holidays from the Sports Panda, and as per usual Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!!!

Warriors on a ten game winning streak

Watch out NBA Golden State seems to be playing at their potential, sure the only big teams they've beaten have been Portland and Miami this season, but they have only two losses and one of those is to the defending champions the San Antonio Spurs who are a team that are always in the discussion. They are first in the league in Assists per game, third in points per game, third in rebounds per game, and seventh in points allowed, and they aren't just beating teams they are averaging 10 points over opponents per game, they lead the league in field goal percentage and opponent field goal percentage. Steph Curry is just ridiculous, he seems unstoppable, and he has the advantage of having teammates who find him open from time to time. Though they won't be truly challenged until December 16th when they face the Grizzly's at Memphis, that should be one of the better games to watch so far this season in the NBA, two teams that seem to have been playing some of the best basketball throughout this league. Regardless this Golden State team is playing well and giving us fans some fantastic basketball to watch, let's see if they can keep this win streak alive tonight as the face off against the Pelicans on TNT.

LeBron seems to be the answer late in the game

The Cavaliers seem to have found the answer to their late game woes, the answer is the King, and the fact that the other two in this new found big three have found a bit of comfort in the new system. Defense is the key to this team being successful into and throughout the playoffs, for we are all aware this team desires a ring this season, though if it is attainable it's hard to tell, we need these beasts to fight for the that plateau of what is known as the Larry O'Brien trophy, if not why would we throw money at these games as if we had no need for these monetary funds printed upon this paper. We all know if this team can present what they laid down upon the Bucks the other night on a regular basis they will challenge any team fighting over the good ole O'Brien race. This team looks terrible most nights but they could be following in the footsteps of the Miami Heat that first year he joined the south beach team, or they are just as terrible as all the LeBron haters want them to be. Either or at least they appear to be as entertaining as we had all hoped.

Kentucky seems to be strolling through NCAA basketball this year

The largest team in Division 1 basketball this year, and by far the one team that seems to be almost unbeatable. Calapari has his usual array of top recruits this year, but this team has so far seemed to blend flawlessly with great chemistry on both sides of the ball, this could be a historic team similar to those good years for UCLA and could be one of those teams that make some history and go undefeated throughout the year, they have a big test on Friday against the Longhorns, and they have the Tarheels coming up in their not to distant future. If they dispatch both teams without a hicup they are well on their way to making themselves the team to beat in college basketball this year, and after seeing how they dispatched a not horrible Jayhawks team with gusto, it seems they will not have trouble with either team. Kentucky has a mostly brand new team after losing in the final last year, but this seems like it will be their year for revenge, short of some serious injuries and other bad luck delivered by the basketball gods. It is still quite early in the season, but from this Panda's point of view this team looks far too strong for this level of play, they seem very well coached and even their bench seems to be almost too difficult for teams to handle. Don't get me wrong if I had my way I would be writing this article about a different team, but the facts are the facts and I have to write what I see. Cheers to Bamboo and Basketball!!!

Mariota does Heisman pose as he and Ducks leap to victory

This was a signature win for the Ducks and Mariota, with Alabama struggling in the Iron Bowl it seems with Oregon's dominance of in state rivals they will receive the #1 spot in the CFP rankings. Florida State is still undefeated but the strength of schedule seems to leave them stuck at 3rd unless they lose, most likely Alabama will drop to second and Oregon will jump to first. Mariota looks to be a lock for getting the Heisman in New York, he seems to break records every week, at this point he holds the PAC12 record for total career touchdowns at 126, as well as the single season total touchdowns at 48 this season, also the conference records for freshman passing touchdowns at 32, and passes attempted without an interception at 353. Ducks have a challenging rematch against Arizona who gave them their only loss of the season earlier in the year, they will play at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara California on Friday at six pm pacific time. For those of you interested in watching it it will air on Fox. Winning the game would ensure the Ducks a spot in the four team playoff, and it is almost perfect that the only team that seems to know how to beat the Ducks in recent years will be their opponent the first time the PAC12 Championship will be played at a neutral site. In case you needed to hear it from a Panda, Quack Muthafuckin' Quack!!!

Ducks will replay Arizona

Though tonights game does not matter for the PAC12 Championship game which will feature Oregon against Arizona at Levi Stadium, it still has an element that could trash the duck's season. The civil war is no joke, especially since it will be played in Corvallis this year, these teams tend to tear each other apart every year and with Oregon State having no shot at anything other than embarrassing their rivals, well I suppose they could get a random bowl game, but that is nothing in comparison to the stress of the Oregon Ducks chances of getting close to that National Championship game. All we really can expect is a great game, and the passion that seems to really exist in College Sports, and in case you didn't know Quack Motherfucking Quack!!!

Steph Curry makes NBA history at American Airlines Arena

Yes the Heat were up early, but then a young man by the name of Stephan Curry decided to start making some history, he now in his career has 51 games with 5 assists and 5 three pointers, he passed Ray Allen on tuesday night for the most all time in NBA history, it seems that he will not stop building this record throughout his career. Steph Curry shot 63.2% from the floor, he hit 8-11 behind the arc, and basically dominated the game, they won 114-97, that is mostly due to Curry's 40 points, but it would not be possible without how well Golden State plays as a team, great ball movement made it easier for Curry to get red hot. Along with great defense, they only allowed 11 points in the fourth quarter, this team only has two losses and is continuing their best start in franchise history, the tides have turned on star driven b-ball though that is hard to say with Curry scoring 40 points, but it is because the Warriors play a very team oriented type of basketball. Things are swaying in the NBA away from the isolation game that has seemed to slow down this wonderful sport, and this is a good thing, stars will become better and more entertaining due to the evolution of the game. One thing that can be said in closing is that Steph Curry seems to have shrugged off his mini shooting slump, and that this Warriors team is prepared to deal with just about any team in NBA right now.

Why are some NBA players so greedy?

Is this seriously a question, sure Kobe is probably not worth his contract this year, but the fact that talented NBA players with their careers starting to wane have to take a pay cut in order for their team to be competitive is complete and utter bullshit. I get it, we as NBA fans don't make much money so it's hard to take the side of a player that makes millions a year, but let me break down what the salary cap does to a sport that could be incredible, and I mean ridiculous in comparison to what we see now.
It makes players who want a ring have to sacrifice a good amount of money in sometimes incredibly short careers just because of that bottom line that these "poor owners" are making. Seriously why would someone who is obviously not stupid when it comes to business spend 2 billion dollars on the LA Clippers, okay for those of you who can't follow, I believe that means that owning an NBA team is very profitable. These are billionaires we are feeling bad for due to media storms that they finance, just because millions of dollars seem like so much to us does not mean that it becomes more than the ridiculous profits these uber rich are making when they win against the NBPA, we have to remember that the players are the reason we watch basketball not the asshole owners. These are employee rights fights even if it's at a level of wealth we can not completely grasp, we should as fans always be on the players side, otherwise it won't be a game worth watching. I know that is why LeBron has a contract he can opt out of at the end of this season, and why any player who is thinking about his future is thinking about his contract because there is only so long his talents can write him these checks. So if you like basketball, keep your voice loud for your team, but also for the players on that team, otherwise this league will not have the heart and soul that makes us watch like it's life or death. Love your team, but know what that entails.

Blazers on a 8 game winning streak

The Portland Trailblazers are acting like the team I expected to see last season, better late than never I suppose, though on a positive note they are producing offense at a high level, they've crushed teams like the Cav's, the Thunder, and the Bulls. All teams that were expected to be huge factors in the NBA this season, though the Blazers do have problems with the stronger teams in the West, the Clippers and Warriors gave them some trouble, though both games ended fairly close. The shocker is how they were dismantled by the Kings, yes that obscure team from Sacramento that is barely in existence, sure they've had a good year so far though still they are the Kings. So why are the Blazers winning, well for one they are 1st in the league in rebounding, they are fifth in assists, seventh in points allowed, and sixth in points per game. Basically they have done what alot of teams have adopted, playing this crazy thing called team basketball, and I know it's not different then how they played last season, the difference is they are hitting those open shots and they are finishing games, also they are playing better defense in this season. In my opinion it is an overall team maturity that I believe starts with Damian Lillard really coming into his own Lillardness if you will, and the idea sparking in the entire team of the importance of defense. They have some tough opponents coming up, Memphis on Friday, San Antonio twice in December, and Toronto at the end of December, it is still early in the season and a multitude of teams on their schedule could have made improvements by the time they are scheduled to play. This is a great start of the 2014 season for a team that seems to be coming into their own as a squad on both sides of the ball, though April is a long way away and there are quite a number of games to be played. The Blazers as a team can only look at the picture one game at a time, and if they do that well they will be successful this season, and could go quite deep into the playoffs.

Flowers records 300th win

I know I am not known for my hockey posts but tonight a great goalkeeper recorded his 300th win for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL. Andre Fleury who has been sensational throughout his career, continues to be a great asset to this incredible franchise, with heart, courage, and an urge to fight. This win against the Bruins seems like poetic justice delivered by the sports God's,  with my Giants losing the Panda to a Boston team at least another black and white animal of my preference can get a bit of revenge for this saddened panda who considered Pablo as a sort of honorary Panda uncle.  So yes bostonians I am hurt, but at least my team's can bite back!

Panda gets $100 million 5 year deal with Red Sox

This page from it's conception has given you Panda updates, and no matter how much it pains me to do so I will report on this one as well. Pablo Sandoval reportedly will receive $100 million in 5 years from the Boston Red Sox after passing the upcoming physical, though Bostonian camp has not reported on it due to apparent bean town weirdness, the report is all over baseball news and if it is not true I may be a new hire at some wonderful sports giant such as ESPN or Vice Sports. So anyways it is a sad day for San Francisco who did actually offer him a fair contract but I believe the AL is what attracted the Panda to the bitter cold of New England, the fact that if he ate too much bamboo to hang out at third he could always become a DH in the waning years of his career. Sure Boston doesn't have much to offer when it comes to weather, bitter cold and snow in the winter, along with the wonderfully humid summers and a short window of a few weeks that make up fall and spring. But it's completely superior to the unchanging almost constant weather in San Francisco, why would you ever want to live somewhere where it is 63° F in late November in the evening, why that sounds like hell.
So now the poor suckers in the bay have to find a new third baseman, though they will be able to replace the third base position they will never be able to replace the panda, so to Pablo good luck, and we thank you for all your years with the Giants!

What is the affinity we have for sports?

Why do we watch sports? Is it a design to distract us from current events that we as a society should pay attention to? Or is simply the joy of seeing incredible feats of athleticism?
Personally I don't care, I enjoy the strange beast that makes me drink like I have an invincible liver, and watch until the final moments to make sure that the magic either happens or doesn't for some team that seems too beaten to come back actually does find that moment of glory. In the end you either love or hate sports, and if you know the love you may lose relationships due to the overall awesomeness of sports as a whole. In these days where people are not letting their children play football, and possibly the death of one the most entertaining games that is played in our day and age, but why worry about the continuation of a wonderful sport when we must bow to the might of human safety. Isn't this the same species that is completely destroying the earth due to overpopulation and extreme pollution to the environment. Please tell me how we should protect this virus with shoes, it's like we believe humans are the most precious resource on this planet, I wish I could understand the compassion of true buddhists but I have quite a cynical view towards humanity. It's okay because I will enjoy American Football until the possible end of this wonderful sport and hope that one day the brutal hypocrisy of humanity will take a bit of a rest so I can enjoy all my addictions, including sports and whatever else can kill me and other humans.

Ducks tromp Buffalos as Mariotta gets closer to Kaepernic's college career stats

A 44 to 10 showing at beautiful Autzen Stadium is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Ducks and their hopes of ending up in the playoffs this season, left is a civil war game and a PAC12 championship game at Levi Stadium. Who the Ducks will play in that game is still up in air, Arizona and Arizona St. both won today, and USC or UCLA will have another loss and most likely be out of the conversation as they play each other as I type. Next week Arizona and Arizona St. faceoff so it will be a question of head to head play between the two teams left in the running, UCLA would have the advantage if they win out, though this is the reason they play the games. Mariota is the sixth player in NCAA Division 1 Football history to record 9,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in his College Career, he even passed Tim Tebow on that list as he made history in the game today.
Mariota seems to cement his grip on the heisman every game he plays and short of some bizarre turn of events he will certainly collect it. And as per usual Quack M§th@rfùck#ing Quack!!!

Spurs face off against the Cavaliers

For those who aren't aware the Spurs are perhaps the biggest foe that LeBron James has ever had the pleasure of playing against, this is the team that defined his career in many ways, first off sweeping him out of his first NBA finals appearance. From there being a complete thorn in his side throughout most of his career, mostly due to their impeccable coaching and flawless rhythm as a team, including most recently being the reason for his return to Cleveland, though I believe if he would've lost to any team in the finals in June it was time for his homecoming. What better team to send him back after four straight finals appearances and two rings to show for his time in Miami, why not bring a giant poster of himself back to the streets of Cleveland, I'm sure the Bone Thugs are harmonizing some incomprehensible shit in celebration at this point in time regardless. This game truly is the test to see if this wine and gold jerseyed team has the chemistry to face off against the better teams in the NBA, we all know they have talent, the question is can they limit their turnovers, keep the ball moving, and of course can they finish the game with good defense. LeBron needs to be at his best, Kyrie needs to be getting his assists along with shooting at a high percentage, Kevin Love needs to be the Kevin Love we know and love, and the rest of the team needs to play smart and hustle. Other than the obvious, they all need to play smart defense, the Spurs are and have in recent history always been one of the best coached teams in the NBA mistakes against this team in any game are suicidal and cannot be forgiven. To put it the short way this is an early test for the Cavaliers, even if the playoffs are months away, this is a test to see how playoff ready they are.

CFP Rankings friendly towards Ducks, who keep #2 Ranking

Even with a bye this week, the Ducks get good news from the CFP rankings committee, with teams moving around Oregon they maintained to keep their second place seeding. As is sometimes the case the bye week was advantageous to the Ducks. Though if you will look over to the AP and Coaches Polls both have the Ducks dropping in rank, this is probably still the hangover from years of BCS bullshit. The Ducks continue to beat ranked opponents and have a classy look to their play that seems to be lacking in alot of the other teams in the discussion for the playoffs, this still is the team to beat in my mind, and we are seeing the new committee shares my view. Now that the Beavers beat Arizona St. the PAC12 south is all tied up, which makes the PAC12 championship very interesting, Oregon seems to have an easy game coming up against Colorado on Saturday, after that they play the Beavers in Corvallis and Duck fans know never sleep on the Civil War game. If the Ducks win both those games then the PAC12 championship is a win or die game basically for the Ducks, as their is no way a two loss team will get in to the playoff unless I have no fingers on the pulse of college football. So as is usually the case in college football the Ducks need to win out to make the playoffs, and if Marcus Mariota is going to get the Heisman it will be because of a Ducks three game winning streak after this bye week.

Ducks jump past undefeated Florida St. in CFP rankings!

Alot of questions have been asked this week with Oregon getting the number two slot in the College Football Playoff Rankings, along with their surprise jump ahead of undefeated Florida State was the TCU Horned Frogs leap frogging Alabama for the number four spot in the rankings. This is great news for how this commitee is handling the ranking system, it means they take into account injuries, strength of schedule, and other factors the BCS were completely ignorant of when their rankings went up every week, it is what all college football fans hoped would happen with the creation of the playoff system. It means an end to getting a national championship just because you're in the SEC or are a historic program that has one the championship a multitude of times, it means that just because Nick Saban is your coach you no longer get a shot at the title every year even with two losses, and a miriad of things that have pissed off college football fans for years. Most of all it means this year if the Ducks win out they will have a chance to play for the national championship which seems like it could be quite a possibility for Oregon. With a game against Colorado coming up in Eugene, and then the always entertaining Civil War in Corvallis the home of the Ducks state rival the Beavers, and finally the PAC 12 Championship which will be held at a neutral site this year at Levi Stadium home of the San Francisco 49ers, in the PAC 12 Championship Oregon will most likely play Arizona State, though UCLA, USC, and Arizona still have a shot at the PAC 12 South.
If the Ducks stay healthy and Mariota stays hot they should be a lock to win it this year, which would bring on the first NCAA Division 1 Football playoff and they could have a real chance at winning it all, these are all what if's but that is what sports is all about. Quack Quack!

It takes overtime to decide this years Saints 9ers fight for the playoffs!!!

Too be fair, the NFC South is so shitty that the Saints shouldn't have even cared about this game, though at least they don't care about the rest of their division enough to make this game an instant classic. You could tell watching this game that the saints were giving it their all, and the 49ers even with their 40% touchdown scoring when in the red zone before playing in New Orleans had some excellent scoring throughout the first half. Then on came a quarterback by the name of Drew Brees, and he showed up to make it look like another missed opportunity by the Forty Niners, and even after the Niners had struggled back to tie up the game with only a minute left on that fourth quarter time clock, that son of a bitch Drew Brees was able to throw what looked like a game winning touchdown to Jimmy Graham yet he pushed off against Perrish Cox, though everyone will ask was it a dive? Though I will continue to say it's a call that when slowed down it would be the call that was made, but without the maybe dive in real time would rarely be called, so if it was a dive it's on the zebra's so fuck off and shut your stupid mouth. So yes the niners found a way to win in overtime and their defense will be so much stronger if the zebra's start calling O line's for holding Justin Smith, oh yeah and Aldon Smith is coming back! Go forty niners, and who's got it better than us? NOBODY!!!!!

Everybody panic the CAVs are 3-3!!!

Every one please chill, the Cavs are not together yet, one of their wins is against the best team in the Eastern Conference if you are thinking talent wise. I mean of course the Chicago Bulls, sure you may say they are not the strongest team in the conference, but we aren't talking about record because it's too early for that bullshit. So if you think this team is not the best thing for the league you are a retard, chemistry is a thing that is gained with time, and with two stars that have not yet been in the playoffs on this team teaming up with LeBron James it is going to be nothing but good for the NBA.
LeBron's first triple double of the season came at a perfect time to make the NBA realize that the Cavaliers could get in a rhythm together, still after their win against the Pelicans they still are not completely jelled as a unit, but these are signs of life, and if the defending champs are any sign of what is needed to win championships being mid range in the standings is okay until around mid january. If any one player gets criticized in this league though it will always be LeBron James, and I believe he has grown in maturity to accept that as his place and knows how deal with the media's questions aware of this responsibility.
We shall see what this team has throughout the season, but any smart basketball fan will realize that this team with LeBron's leadership should give us a good look at what to expect out of the rest of the league due to an unbreakable competetive nature that LeBron will bring to any team he is a part of.

Warriors try to go 4-0 against division rival Clippers

Stephan Curry and Klay Thompson are trying to their team to a 4-0 start early in this NBA season, sure it's early in the season, but this team looks good, they are playing good defense so far this year and this is probably why they are undefeated so far this season. One obstacle in their path to perfection through four games is a strong offensive divisonal rival the Los Angeles Clippers, with four people averaging double digits in points per game, Blake Griffin is always a beast, and Chris Paul is arguably the best point guard in the league, & don't forget about DeAndre Jordan sure he hasn't scored much this season but his boards and blocks alone make him a player an team would love to have on their squad.
Though anyone who has watched Stephan Curry play in the last few years knows when he gets hot he is unstoppable, also Harrison Barnes is a player that can never be overlooked and seems to have yet to hit his peak. Andre Iguodala has been rather quiet this season but as I previously stated it is still extremely early in the season, Iguodala is a player an NBA fan will never sleep on do to his high basketball IQ and his overall comfort on the court, he is sure to start heating up soon this season. Andrew Bogut is a strong center in a league that seems to have an incredible shortage of players that can play the position, he is no superstar but more just a blue collar big man, he always has an affect on the game when on the court.
This is an anticipated game to say the least that will set the tone for this division as the winner will take the lead in the division and this matchup could be a very early glimpse at a playoff series five months from now. Make some noise Oracle Arena!!!

What is Love?

Love is believing your team has a chance when they are an underdog, love is knowing they can pull through a game seven no matter how dark it looks, and love is also the tears that come when it all goes wrong. Love is the game, love is the idea, love is the team, and most of all love is wearing your heart on your sleeve through it all. Sure all of these things can cross into what people consider love actually is but this page is not called love panda, it's Sports Panda, and that means when a panda speaks of love on this page it will be the love of the game (good movie).
Don't get me wrong the saints look strong with 2456 yards of passing offense, and 1036 rushing yards of offense this season. Wait, wait, wait, though they allowed 2147 passing yards, 817 rushing yards of offense this season. What happens if your teams defense can stop them, what happens when you get to Drew Brees early, I know he doesn't make mistakes usually but he does have 8 interceptions with his 15 touchdowns. On top of that they have completely lost the special teams games, I'd get into the stats but who really cares, the fact is they are losing every aspect of the special teams game.
I would talk about our offensive prowess this year but the 1809 to 1650 differential in passing yards for Niners against their opponents this season is not enough to make anyone feel that good when they scored one more passing td against us on those stats, we can't close is what that shows me. Then 956 to 685 yards rushing, yes the niners have the advantage yet allowed 5 rushing touchdowns to our 3 rushing touchdowns, but the facts will only matter when the season is over. If you believe that zebra's are only Panda jealous for being the more superior black and white being than you will understand it's just race thing, you know hooves versus paws.
Though I really believe this year's niner team just needs some good competition to show up to play, and shut up about the whole denver debacle, with Aldon Smith ready to make Drew feel as short as he is I think this is the game to turn around the niners season.
Don't forget Love is a Journey song stuck on repeat, Don't Stop Believing because Steve Perry knows where you live!!!

Giants prove their dynasty

Game 7 of the World Series is what young boys baseball dreams are made of, and to be a starting pitcher put in in relief is those dreams on crack, but this is how Madison Bumgarner ended this years World Series. He is now discussed as one of greats in history at the age of 25, and this how it goes with such a low ERA in the World Series. Also if we talk about clutch hitting in the World Series in recent years you must mention a Panda known as Pablo Sandoval, he seems to have October in his blood, nothing against the Royals but maybe they should think about wearing jerseys that don't remind the giants of their rivals the dodgers.
Three World Series trophy's in five years is a feat that seems fictional but we all saw it happen, shit I'm still feeling the hangover and I wouldn't be surprised if the entire city of San Francisco feels the same way. This team is a dynasty and they have what it takes to fight through the critics, smurfs, and haters to make history, an injury filled season that looked hopeless at times, but when it came down to it all it was a pitch from MadBum that forced a pop up fly that was caught by a Panda to end this years 2014 baseball season.
April seems a long way away right now, but we shall see what moves are made to see if the Giants can finally compete on an odd year. So don't forget to respect your Panda's and never give up on your team.
This blog will start to focus more on football and move more into basketball as that becomes more relevant, though I will miss writing baseball it will return after March Madness.

I hate hashtags but #MadBum

Madison Bumgarner delivered an absolute gem of a pitching start for game five of the World Series, pitching the first shutout in the World Series since 2003 when Josh Beckett pitched a shutout for the Marlins against the Yankees. If their is a better pitcher in postseason baseball who is currently playing I have yet to see him, Bumgarner is as calm as a Panda who just had sex while he is on the mound this October, and it is almost a shock to see him make a mistake.
The Giants are bringing the momentum back to Kansas City as in the last two games their hitting has been extremely on point, with 12 hits last night and 5 runs, Saturday getting 16 hits and 11 runs. To think that this series could go to 7 games is quite incredible for any baseball fan but for any Giants fan it's Giants in 6 games, for no one in the camp of Orange October will even ponder a loss on tuesday night. With Peavy hoping to come up with a good six inning show, and whoever that fastball pitcher is that Kansas City has pitching for them will hopefully pitch for a homerun derby as that is how hot Giants are currently.
What do I think of the Panda this World Series, well hitting .364 for the World Series with 4 RBI's and a couple of 2 baggers isn't shaby on top of his incredible work at third base, I say to the Giants please pay him this offseason because he has earned it, I know most likely he will be fair if you offer him something decent.
So fuck Joe Buck and the fake smurfs, tomorrow this World Series is coming to an end with a pandarific Giants win in Missouri.

Why does this even year feel so odd?

For this particular panda is currently living in a small town in France known to a few cultured people in the world as Paris, it's not much to look at but I call it home, and at least the scotch is cheap here. I miss my access to Oregon and Cali greens, and of course my personal arsenal of "smokies" (patent pending), Omars, and all the people that make Ashland the only hometown I will truly ever have. Though with game four just an hour away I need to look past all these things and chug a lug grimace my scotch down so I can ignore the fatigue that only cooks and chefs truly know, for alcohol can cure what ails you no matter the location or the weather.
We got Voggie starting and he's my ace at least for tonight, time change and all I might get to watch seven innings before the inevitable crash, but I will be drinking to defeating these replacement smurfs so call on azrael and any other anti Missouri team bullshit we can find. It is time to tie this series up in true Giants fashion and make everyone remember it is an even year, we win on these years and Huddy needs a goddamn ring for fucks sake, the AL sux balls and everyone knows it. No offense to all y'all ball lickers but seriously this is the night for a win for Orange and Black.
So if you see someone wearing blue tonight just punch them in the jeans for panda's are endangered and usually too lazy to fuck so we have some fake smurfs fucking up their ectasy, Gargamel is a good guy until the end of October, Papa Smurf can give Brainy some brain, and smurfette can go fuck herself.
Anywho go Giants and the bats are favoring us tonight because I said so and that is all that really matters, scotch scotch something I love something...

Mad Bum does it all through luck to defeat team named after cow breed

According to the experts in sports analysts before game one of the World Series, both teams were there by luck due to the expanded wildcard set ups that were not in place back when there were less teams in the league and there were even suggestions that the premier league some strange british league that plays fake football was the perfect system to find the best team in a league. Though these cunts know how to write I do not give them credit for having an operable brain, the fact that a system with no postseason whatsover would truly find the best team every year seems about as backwards and unamerican as saying I hate apple pie, I don't care if you're allergic you still love that shit.
If it is luck to play 162 games against an assortment of the total 30 teams in the league and end up in a wild card one game playoff, win that, proceed to win a best of five series followed by a best of seven series to end up in the World Series then I have been completely imagining the last 9 months I've spent in Paris and am still wasted in a bar in a small town in Oregon.
10 teams out of 30 get a shot at it, weird because in the NBA where there are also 30 teams, 16 teams get a shot at it, how odd how that seems like more teams, in the NFL they have 32 teams and 12 teams make it to the playoffs yet they never say it's luck if a wild card team wins it all.
This is backwards sports writer mentality from an age where the Dodgers didn't fail in the postseason and the Yankees were always favored, these dinosaurs miss the bullshit days so they wave wands over their computers and compile crap that no one should be forced to read or pretend to enjoy.
These are the two best teams in their sport because they have battled this far, if you don't like the fall classic get a new career, October is the best time of year and is getting more exciting thanks to these wild card teams packed with talent that get a chance to compete. The Royals getting the best record since the allstar break must be luck as well, and Madison Bumgarner being 3-0 in World Series games also, and don't forget Panda, his more patient hitting in October duly luck.
The Giants looked more poised in Game One due to experience and a great manager Bruce Bochy, not because the Royals had too much rest, they've been in three of the last five world series they know this stage, no surprise they scored 3 runs in the first inning.
If you want to talk about luck talk about Joe Buck still having a job, but apparently half assed hacks do great in this industry of sports.
Panda out, Go Giants!!!

First ever wild card World Series since wild card format change

Giants and Royals prepare for a historic World Series, the first time two wild card teams face off in the World Series since the format change to make two wild card teams in each league play one game to see who would advance, also only the second time in history that two wild card teams have faced each other in the World Series. The last was in 2002 when the Angels won against the Giants in the seven game series due to Joe Bucks inability to speak the english language, the Giants could've put the Angels away with only eight outs to win it all, though unfortunately Joe Buck continued to flap his jaws uselessly and finally wore down a strong Giants squad until they finally gave up a five run lead in game six.
Unfortunately for the human race Joe Buck will continue to bore and amaze by continuing to work for the FOX sports department as the role of village idiot, though San Francisco seems to be a bit more immune to Joe Buck's idiocy in 2014 so I believe even year still holds under the leadership of Bruce Bochy.
Both teams look incredibly unbeatable as they prepare for game one of the 2014 World Series which begins on Tuesday in Kansas City, we seem to be getting ready for one of the most exciting World Series' games in recent history, other then 2012 and 2010 of course.
So go buy your Panda hats, water your bamboo, and don't forget Orange October!!!

Giants itching for the pennant

With the glass of scotch filled high and his cigarette lit, the sports panda has his instrumentals booming in earphones ready to bring you the magic from these keys that I've been so shy from of late. Please do not blame me, blame my losing lottery tickets and a world society that doesn't allow us to pursue our passions, but fuck all that noise it's almost time for warm up pitches in game five of an incredibly exciting NLCS. We have ourselves the Giants who haven't hit a long ball in six straight postseason games and the Cardinals that seem to have no shortage of home runs, yet some magical way the Giants sit one win away from the covetted pennant. Small ball, or team baseball, or simply a team designed for October whatever you want to call it it is a fact this team has a winning attitude at the plate and on defense. The Panda is ready for the World Series, are you? For as far as I can tell we have not lost our command of this time and place and I believe in the even year superstition.
Buster Posey got his team into this position after a great game last night, Panda hasn't been too shy either and it looks like the Cardinals might start acting like a canary in a cage babbling about puddy tats with less luck, and this time the black and white creature ready to devour is not a pussy.
Bumgarner is back on the mound tonight and if I had placed any bets for tonights results there would be no feathers gaining victory, I believe it's time to get ready for Tuesday in Kansas City.
Well good night y'all no Panda's were injured in the making of this post except for at least one's liver.

Who cares about Sports?

Sports are the pain and the anguish in my veins, the untiring hunger I have in my mind for that lost friend my blind eyes miss. Is it love or hate that make me question the color of my bedding or the beers I drink, in reality who gives a fuck if my team wins, but why is my life a spider web of poison filled decisions? Only because that lottery ticket is a winner and those box seats are coming my way, or if not god forgive me or atleast my boss, fuck this life it's lost in replay's and a bottle. Give me an ashtray to carry my soul and a dust pan for my shattered heart, the scotch and nicotine may handle the loss of my ability to be social or care about the normalcy that everyone else craves. So if you hate smurfs from april until november and wish they gave paid game day's off join this crazy Panda in a plea towards the dark side of the gambling ticket that decides to be a winner just because I believed hard enough.

My room needs some sweeping

Get your brooms ready, my room is messy and the only thing that will motivate a clean floor is a sweep. Anyways back to baseball where the best team in the National League as far as regular season record is concerned is facing getting swept by the team that squeeked in to the post season barely.
The giants have one of the best managers in MLB history at the helm and a team that seems ready for any challenge including tying up a game two in the ninth and winning that same game in the eighteenth. This is a beautiful time for fans in AT&T park to give ace Madison Bumgarner support to finish off the Washington Nationals and be the third team this postseason to sweep their opponent.
So baseball fans grab your beer, your panda hats of orange and black, and don't forget your brooms.
If you are worried about the fact that the MLB Network is being assholes having the only showing of the game just say f§ck it and stream the game!!!

Peavy stands tall, and Santiago Casilla finishes it off

We may not of heard any awesome words about nimble or graceful pandas in this nail biter of a game one of the NLDS in Washington but the Giants did steal game one away from the team with the best record in the National League in the regular season. This San Francisco team is using a combination of veterans and very talented rookies to make this seem like any other postseason they have had in the past five seasons, the team that seems unlikely to win yet somehow seems so ready to make it happen. A 3-2 win in game one is completely the way they would've done it in 2010 or 2012 so why not continue on this bizarre dance they have been stepping through for quite a while. Pitching and batting towards what the opposing pitcher will give you won this one without a doubt, as well as a bit of Panda overload for D.C. residents, these folks can handle crack smoking mayor's but you give them more than one panda in the capital city and they can barely pull off a rally cap.

Another Panda has arrived in D.C.

Is two Panda's in Washington too many for Nationals pitcher Strasburg's mind to handle, or can he fight through the vicious black and white images of graceful panda's rolling through his mind. We are sure that Strasburg is accustomed to the presence of Tai Shan in the city but will this new panda in town be pandaoverload for the young pitchers mind, who can really know if he may have a childhood fear of bamboo, or simply cannot handle the overall cuteness of Pandas in general.
Jake Peavy will be starting for the Giants and we know he is accustomed to the east coast and giants fans are hopeful that his experience and skill can help give the Giants a game one win. We know that our Panda does like to show his skill at bat in the postseason  against aces, though how will all the other giants do at bat against the skilled pitching staff of the Nationals.
Postseason heat and over all Orange and Black are October esque colors, so put on those panda hats some one let Tai Shan her baseball team will be defeated honorably by a fellow panda, let's get some bamboo on the barbeque or in the curry however you like it, crack open some cold ones and let's enjoy a San Francisco win this afternoon, or evening if you happen to be watching from western europe.

Cricket?

Is it cricket season? Oh wait who cares? Panda is two of three right now and luckily enough I only work in six hours and change, so yeah I might get to watch most of this game. For f%cks sake let's go giants because no one is anti gargamel this time of year. Mad Bum has 7 strike outs through five and looks as good as gold, the bucs seem out of sorts since the grand slam by Brandon Crawford in the fourth, Giants need to stay hot and get this game out of reach or atleast be one with their gloves by keeping the Pirates off the board. This could be the start of a beautiful postseason for the Giants but one never knows so let's lose some sleep and live and die for the Orange and Black, for if San Francisco doesn't keep it's on and off World Serie. winning I may no longer understand the world of sports let alone the best sport in the world of baseball!

Royal postseason drought over

If we wanted the possibility of a Battle of the Bay the Royals made sure those dreams were crushed with a stunning comeback after being down by four runs until the bottom of the eighth. They came back to 7-6 in the bottom of the eighth though left the tying run on base, they tied it up with small ball in the bottom of the ninth. Then in the twelfth the A's scored though Kansas City came back tied it up then got the walk of winning run. The Royals win this one 9-8 in a truly beautiful game of baseball, their first postseason win since 1985 when they won the World Series.
Kansas City will go on to play the Angels (the LA team I don't hate) in the ALDS, the A's go home wondering what could've been, but this is what the one game playoff wild card game is all about.
Good baseball is good baseball and this game was an instant classic, if Kansas City can get past the smoking hot Angels they will be considered a good pick for the World Series but we shall see.
There is no crying in baseball but I think Coco Crisp and the rest of this Oakland team might be drying their cheeks just a bit in the next few days.
So if it's barbeque you love then catch those tickets to the Kansas City home games in the best of 5 ALDS against LA, for this team looks strong and might be going far in October, more great games seem to be on the horizon and I can not always say that.

Quack M§th&ck%ng Quack

Well I for one love heisman watch after 4 games played, just like I like fast food, people who walk slow in front of me when I'm heading to work, and of course I love people hating on Panda's for no reason. Okay I get it 16 touchdowns and no turnovers is great, but it's Mariota anyone who has paid any attention to Oregon football in the last few years knew it was his year, plus he hasn't seemed as baked as most Oregon players tend to be. What these hack sports reporters should be talking about is the hate the Duck's are receiving from the coaches polls, so what they had a close call against Washington State, they are still an incredibly well rounded team. I get it don't rank them too high they might fail you as the PAC12 is a difficult conference these days but they are the m%th#rf*ck&ng ducks, they are in the conversation for the nation title almost every year, and don't give me elephant sized SEC excuses and this BS Florida State garbage, can we rate a team on the actual strength of schedule up to this point and not some futuristic projection that's in some overpaid coaches mind? I for one am more excited for the UCLA game than the Arizona game coming this Saturday for the Ducks, that one will be a true test for our rain weathered fowl.
What it comes down to is we all want good football and without the Ducks being ranked as the AP aptly ranks them it is a disservice to college football as a whole, but this is the NCAA if is broke we will limp along trying not to fix it because we are an extremely profitable non profit that employs slaves to service our monetary funds. Did I speak out of line? I think not, this is the world that my eyes have gazed upon and these are not lies that I speak.
But who really cares, we won we finally have our four team playoff...

Giants prepare for first wild card playoff

The Giants crazy up and down season filled with injuries new faces with nice surprises and sometimes stunning pitching that at other times seemed to be their achilies heel.
Unable to do much to disuade the smurfs from taking the division they are playing in Pittsburgh wednesday to continue in the postseason. If they win they will play a five game series against the Nationals who have used their name well this season as they are the team in the national league with the best record. The Washington based team continues to be the capitol city's only chace at some sort of championship in the near future in professional sports, as the R#dsk@ns and the Capitols both seem to busy f#ck§ng up to pull any of the pressure off the city's baseball team.
So Giants fans are asking themselves if they can be the first team since the adapted wild card game set up to go all the way from the wild card playoff game to win the World Series (and yes international haters of baseball, it is the WORLD Series, both due to the fact that Toronto is part of the league, and the best baseball players in the World come to the MLB to play and actually make money at this game that for some odd reason gets a back seat to Cricket in many parts of the world.) this would be historic, though the Giants have a very formidable foe in their path in the Pittsburgh Pirates who have an excelent home field record this season most likely due to the fact that there is nothing to do in Pittsburgh and even if PNC park is no AT&T park it is still better than what the city of Pittsburgh offers seven nights a week until the Penguins regular season starts up, you know a little brawl on ice with touches of football (both kinds) all with a bunch of like minded fans who want as close to death on ice as is possible.
Anywho the Giants are trying to make this all a regular thing, Win World Series, take a year off, win the World Series, um yeah let's take a year off, and who knows, Win a World Series? It would be impressive, three world series wins in five years, plus the smurfs like losing to the cards in the postseason so we wouldn't even have to face them again and wouldn't that be nice. The only thing really standing in the Giants is a team that comes from a city where there is nothing to do, short of cleveland I think pittsburgh might be the worst city in professional sports to be drafted to (I mean Murican sports ofcourse, I would never want to be drafted by the Bogota whatever's or any team from oman or iran, way too hot and not nerely enough booze for my liking.)
I guess I'm glad the A's made it just because I can't resist the temptation of a battle of bay, though I still hate that shit team from Oakland only slightly less than I hate the smurfs. Oh yeah almost forgot
f%ck LA!!!

Pence figures out rally drum beat and helps Giants win series in top of the ninth

Apparently Gary Brown's head makes a great rally drum, Hunter Pence it seems will find any way to win a baseball game, even if it may be a bit abnoxious to his teammate Gray Brown you cannot scoff at results, especially in an uber superstitious sport like baseball. The revolutionary rally head drum seemed to aid the Giants in the top of the ninth score two runs at an all together perfect time.
The inning started with Panda earning a walk, Susac stuck out looking, then came the rally drum, aiding it seemed to Brandon Crawford's single to right, Brandon Belt had a great at bat laying of a beautiful 2-2 slider and earning a walk in the end loading the bases. Hunter Pence continued his rally drum for Matt Duffy who had an incredible at bat and singled to center scoring Panda and Crawford with one swing of the bat.
With the Dodgers getting stomped by the Rockies last night the Giants sit two games back from their rivals, and it seems like the upcoming visit to Los Angeles will decide the division.
The Giants pick up the win with only six hits, four of which were picked up by Brandon Crawford who is red hot going four of four for the game with an RBI and getting two runs in the game.
Casilla picked up his 17th save of the season, and Romo collected his sixth win, Matt Duffy or Duffman has no fear as a pinch hitter and his attitude shows he truly belongs in the big leagues.
Giants win the series even after losing the first game of three and continue to play like a team that isn't just content with the wild card berth that they have a 99% chance of earning, they seem hungry to steal the division from the Dodgers who at times in this season seemed to have it locked without any problem. Luckily for baseball fans we have a real race for the NL west here in late September, good pitching, smart defense, and good hitting are going decide this one, and what is better than that?

Trade for Peavy still paying dividends as Giants win at Arizona

Peavy had a standup game pitching for seven and two thirds innings, four strikeouts, five hits, an earned run and a walk in ninety five pitches, calming the worried nerves of Bruce Bochey no doubt on the production  for his starting pitchers after a few games that seemed to go astray.
In the Panda Watch he went two for four hitting, also after almost stretching for an incredible play to stop the games only run on the next batter made a great effort to start a double play.
Buster Posey started of the scoring with a solo shot in the top of the fourth his twenty first home run of the season.
Arizona tied it up after a triple in the bottom of the sixth and an insuing RBI single where if Panda was just a bit taller would've made an incredible play to stop the run. The following double play ended the sixth without more damage on the scoreboard.
A lead off single by Hunter Pence started the seventh, then an Ishikawa single brought a hustling Pence to third, and a Brandon Crawford sac fly brought in Pence to regain the lead.
Buster Posey hit two of four with a home run, his average is .312 for the season, Brandon Crawford hit two of three with an RBI. Casilla picked up the save his sixteenth of the season.
Though the Giant's bats may of cooled a bit they are still getting the job done, looking like they will hold on to the wild card berth as well as having home field in the wild card game, though nothing is set in stone. The Giants sit three games back from the Dodgers who lost last night to the Rockies, with a little luck San Francisco could still steal the division though it seems doubtful with only eleven games left to play.

Zebra's attack at Levi Stadium opening

A shocking affair in the opening home game for the 49ers, zebras infiltrated the field early on, though due to a PETA presence there was nothing the NFL could do. The Zebra's were not removed from the field until halftime, though after which they escaped around the same time as the players when the second half had begun.
This was when a number of bears took to the field and began altering the game.  It was strange because this was the first sight of any bears until this point in the game.  From the beginning it had only been Zebra's bringing in the zoo atmosphere to NBC's Sunday night football game.  Unfortunately the game saw more mistakes than victories and we all have a sour taste in our minds due to this game.
However no gazelles were injured so life continues.  Thanks this is panda out I think our Zebra's are gone for now.

Giants bats stay red hot in shut out win over Dodgers

Well the sweat can be wiped from the brow, the Giants hot hitting is definately still effective against the Dodgers talented pitching staff, the proof is in the pudding and more than that on the score board, getting twelve hits and nine runs for the game. The start of the Dodgers batting order looked almost like a shaky start for Bumgarner but the risk was quieted with a few quick outs.
Those Giant's bats, boy did they come to play, in the bottom of the first Panik doubled to left followed by a Buster Posey RBI double to left, Hunter Pence singled to center and got to second as the throw to catch Posey at home came after he had scored from second. Panda flied out to center allowing Pence to tag and make it to third, Arias singled to right bringing home Pence, a wild pitch gave Arias second, Gregor Blanco was walked followed by Brandon Crawford hitting an RBI double to right bringing home Arias and Blanco wisely stayed at third, Bumgarner struck out looking to end the bottom of the first inning. All in all a four run five hit inning for the Giants who went through their entire batting line up, not bad to start off the game.

Dodgers started the second with a double by Ramirez to deep left, yet Madison Bumgarner pitched a strike out, a ground out, and a pop up out to leave Ramirez stranded in scoring position.
No surprise the Dodgers went to the bullpen early as Ryu was relieved by Perez, Pagan was walked then stole second, Panik's fly ball was caught in center field, Buster Posey was walked, then Hunter Pence hit into a double play ending the inning.

Even with a pinch hitter for the pitcher Perez the Dodgers got three kick outs and left the top of the third with still only one hit in the game down by four runs and already using their third pitcher of the game. Panda hit a single to start the bottom of the third, Panda got to second after Arias hit a single, Giants hit three straight hits with Blanco singling to center, though the excitement of the bases being loaded disapated with three straight outs. The fourth inning was uneventful other than Ramirez getting hit by a pitch most likely revenge for a forgotten home run three months ago, though who can really tell when a great pitcher can make it look like an accident, and it is no secret that these teams do not like each other.

The top of the fifth was Los Angeles' best chance to put points on the board, getting two hits and the bases loaded in the inning yet still couldn't muster an RBI. As if the wind wasn't thouroughly remove from the Dodger's sails Brandon Crawford hit a two run  home run in the bottom of the fifth, pushing the lead to a daunting six to nil. The only Dodgers pitcher to last more than an inning (Frias made it three innings) was done after the end of the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh the iconic AT&T Park classic sprung from Ishikawa's bat, a three run splash hit home run, to make things even brighter for Giants fans a guy with a McCovey cove shirt kayaked to the ball and gathered it up with aid of his paddle.

After allowing only three hits in seven innings pitched Madison Bumgarner picked up the win with ease his fifth win in a row leaving him at 18-9 in his starts for the season, Giants starting pitching maintains their quality showing of late as all true baseball fans know is the key at this point in the season.
Buster Posey went 2-4 an RBI and a walk leaving his batting average at .310 for the season, Hunter Pence went 2-5 and an RBI, his average is sitting right under three hundred at .295. Arias hit 2-4 with an RBI, Crawford went 2-3 and 3 RBI's, Ishikawa's only at bat was a 3 run blast to McCovey cove.
Giants bats might as well be on fire with a couple home runs in the game and 12 hits, this team seems to be focused on getting back into the MLB postseason after missing their chance to defend their World Series title last year.
Giants sit one game back from the Dodgers in the division who they play tonight with Tim Hudson starting against Zack Greinke, and if the Giants continue to play the way they have they have a good chance to be sitting tied in the division with another home game to play for the lead in the division.

Giants sweep Diamondbacks, home streak at 9 in a row

Hunter Pence got a funky RBI single (as he seems so apt to get) to start of the scoring in the first inning, then in the bottom of the third Panda hit a RBI single giving Pagan his second run of the game. Brandon Crawford's RBI single in the bottom of the fourth brought home Gregor Blanco and gave the home team a three run lead all they would need to win the game and sweep Arizona in the series. Arizona finally got on the board in the top of the sixth when Trumbo hit an RBI double to deep right center, surely breathing a sigh of relief as it was starting to look like they might get shut out two games in a row, this brought on the pitching change for the Giants as Machi relieved Peavy.
Peavy continued the roll San Francisco starting pitchers have been on, pitching 5.2 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 earned run, and collecting 8 strikeouts thursday afternoon.
The Giants continued the scoring in the bottom of the sixth with more small ball as Perez doubled to left scoring Ishikawa, later in the inning Buster Posey hit an RBI single to right to bring home Perez and Panik made it to third after a throwing error by Inciarte. A walk of the Panda and a following bases loaded walk of Hunter Pence brought in Panik bringing the score to 6-1.
Things almost got worrisome for the Giants in the top of the ninth with three well hit balls to center, one caught at the wall for a fly out, the next a home run for Lamb, and the last a well hit single, though the worries were short lived after two more outs.
All in all the Giants bats looked strong as they prepare for tomorrow's game against the Dodgers who are up two games for the Division lead, their only worry would certainly be their lack of a strong closing pitcher as even this afternoon was their only show of weakness on defense.
As far as hitting went tonight Giants managed twelve hits, Angel Pagan went 2/4 getting 2 runs, Buster Posey hit 3/5 getting one RBI, Hunter Pence hit 1/2 got 2 RBI's and 2 walks, Brandon Crawford hit 2/4 with one RBI, and Perez went 1/2 with 1 RBI.
On the Panda watch he went one out of four, an RBI and a walk, and to watch him play third base like a kung fu Panda is always enlightening.

Giants score 4 in the 7th in shut out win

Wednesday nights game was a must win for the Giants who are warming up to play a series against NL west rivals Dodgers on Friday. Starting pitcher Vogelsong did all you can ask pitching through 6 and 2/3 innings allowing only 2 hits, 5 walks, and collecting 3 strike outs along the way, San Francisco starting pitching staying hot of late. The game was scoreless into the bottom of the 7th, a walk of Hunter Pence started the surge, followed by a Gregor Blanco hit down the right field line and Pence scored all the way from first due to some clumsy fielding. Duffy hits a double and Blanco scores, Brandon Crawford scored on a wild pitch and Pagan added a sac fly to that four run surge in the 7th.
In the Panda watch he was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, and hit a double in the 8th leading to a Panda run to bring it to 5 runs for the Giants.
The Giants bullpen did not allow a hit or a walk, Machi picked up the win though only had to get one out to grab it, Affelt pitched an inning getting one strikeout, Romo finished it off with a ground out and two strikeouts.

The Giants are looking hot, even in a game that had been an all out pitching duel into the 7th, their hitting once again got hot at the right time and they scored more than enough runs to win the game.
Tonight they look to sweep Arizona and keep the bats hot as they prepare to face off against a very hot Los Angeles Dodgers team who are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Giants are sitting 2.5 games behind their Division rival, they could use a sweep tonight and to win the series against the Dodgers as they only have 17 games left in their season.

How much do NBA owner's think they own?

It came to this Panda's attention through LeBron's leaving of the Cleveland Cavaliers and again throughout the last NBA lockout, that NBA owner's were under the impression that they owned a bit more than we as sports fans would consider they had ownership of. For me the idea was simple the players were under contract and beyond that they had every right to jump from team to team searching for better contracts, be it for money, or a better chance to win. What first broke my calm was Dan Gilbert's disgraceful verbage directed towards LeBron James, and it was also unnerving when fans jumped on this disrespectful bandwagon. Don't get me wrong I understand the emotion of losing your best chance of winning an NBA title, but acting out on it without having a bit of empathy for a player who had NO help for his entire first stay in Cleveland is to me shallow and not at all the way people should present themselves to the media. The fans I guess get a pass, but an owner of an NBA team? Childish acts seem to be expected in this day an age in sports I suppose but I for one expect it to come from young players not old men who should have the wisdom and if not the personnel to keep them from acting like spurned lovers cast aside for greener grasses.

Next was the Collective Bargaining Agreement, if a Panda ever had a doubt that billioners had no end to the depths of their greed this was when it was burnt to a crisp with some Superman heat vision. Yet all fans I talked to again had sided with the uber rich, funny that their arguement was that the players made enough money, strange when you do the actual math, 30 owners in the NBA, and I'm not even going to try to figure out how many players are in the NBA. So if I ever thought that 30 people combined should make more than give or take 500 people combined I would need a psycological examination more than I thought. Though the players are the greedy ones trying to maintain the 55% to 45% share of the profits, where the owners got slighltly less of the cut, seems strange when one side of the pie is cut into alot more parts. It's all for not as with the power to lockout, the owners got a 50/50 cut of said pie and us fans lost a portion of an NBA season due to unnecessary greed, but why should any of us really be shocked, they are quite childish and apparently racist as well, the owners ofcourse.

Fastforward to the present as we have the second owner forced to sell due to public racist comments, makes it all come together so well for my mind, if they actually believe they own these players than it is all too crystal clear to understand why they would have no ability to care for these brilliant athelete's future monetary security.

In the end we can only hope that the media can atleast help a bit, though that has me more in doubt than any other possible solution to this very pressing problem in one of the most successful professional sports association in the world.

SF Giants Roll through D-Backs in game one of the series

Giants offense is rolling through game one of the home series against the D-backs, Pagan went 4-5, and Panik went 5-5, adding to the Giants 12 hits in the 5-1 win on tuesday. Petit pitched a complete game with only 84 pitches allowing one earned run and only 4 hits to Arizona, maintaining another good showing for San Francisco starters.
Our good friend Panda got himself a two out RBI off a walk to help out this page's Panda watch.
All in all this games as well as this series seems to be a good warm up for the coming homestand against the rival Dodgers. With a win of this series and a hopefull sweep against LA we could be looking at a very interesting finish to the NL West race.
Hopeful Giants fans are looking for Vogelsong to help the defense shut down Arizona, could be looking at 8 wins in a row at home with a win tonight.

49er fans make the Cowboy's first home game a sea of red

For this Panda watching the first 49ers game of the 2014 season from my apartment in my Parisien apartment, I was surprised yet not shocked to see a prominent number of red jersey's outnumbering the blue ones.
One thing about the so called "America's Team" is that Americans prefer winners, and that is one thing that San Francisco's history has a plethera of.
The first half was a joy to watch for any fan of red and gold, even with one of the leagues best run defense allowing more yards on the ground then fans of the 5 time Superbowl Champs have become accustomed to, the ability to turn the ball over and capatalize on those turnovers was a joy to witness.
Though there are surely a few rooting for those with stars on their helmets that would disagree. Colin Kaepernick looked cool and collected throughout the game, making some great descisions and making it look like this truely could be a miraculous year for the young QB. On the other end Tony Romo seemed to be playing right into the hands of 49ers Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio, figuratively and literally at times, Romo's frustration seemed to only grow as the game seemed to be all but over as the minutes continued to expire from the game clock.

Michael Crabtree a game time decision did play, though still didn't seem 100%, but the 70 or so tickets he aquired for friends and family certainly helped make it feel more like a home game than an away game for a San Francisco team that is hoping this season is the one that the frachise can hoist it's 6th Superbowl trophy.

All in all a great way to start the season, even with a few questionable calls from officiating and perhaps not showing the full brunt of their offense, this Panda certainly believes the San Francisco 49ers should be pround of this showing in Arlington Texas.
