Blazers on a 8 game winning streak

The Portland Trailblazers are acting like the team I expected to see last season, better late than never I suppose, though on a positive note they are producing offense at a high level, they've crushed teams like the Cav's, the Thunder, and the Bulls. All teams that were expected to be huge factors in the NBA this season, though the Blazers do have problems with the stronger teams in the West, the Clippers and Warriors gave them some trouble, though both games ended fairly close. The shocker is how they were dismantled by the Kings, yes that obscure team from Sacramento that is barely in existence, sure they've had a good year so far though still they are the Kings. So why are the Blazers winning, well for one they are 1st in the league in rebounding, they are fifth in assists, seventh in points allowed, and sixth in points per game. Basically they have done what alot of teams have adopted, playing this crazy thing called team basketball, and I know it's not different then how they played last season, the difference is they are hitting those open shots and they are finishing games, also they are playing better defense in this season. In my opinion it is an overall team maturity that I believe starts with Damian Lillard really coming into his own Lillardness if you will, and the idea sparking in the entire team of the importance of defense. They have some tough opponents coming up, Memphis on Friday, San Antonio twice in December, and Toronto at the end of December, it is still early in the season and a multitude of teams on their schedule could have made improvements by the time they are scheduled to play. This is a great start of the 2014 season for a team that seems to be coming into their own as a squad on both sides of the ball, though April is a long way away and there are quite a number of games to be played. The Blazers as a team can only look at the picture one game at a time, and if they do that well they will be successful this season, and could go quite deep into the playoffs.
