As the ashes fall from my cigarette onto an unkempt floor, mixing with previous debry next to empty whiskey bottles and beer cans, the stun fades as I realize what this young Blazer was able to accomplish in the fourth quarter after quite a mediocre previous three quarters. Draining four threes quickly almost with the speed I would empty shots, and scoring sixteen points in the final quarter after only scoring six points previously, it showed his true grit and desire to win. This a Blazer team that was considered to be in a rebuilding year when the season began, is now one win away from the second round of the NBA playoffs, and as an Oregon grown Panda that does bring a bit of joy to this libation drowned heart. Even with the disappointment of a lack of bourbon or even cheap scotch this Panda will survive tomorrow with a smile on my face thanks to another one of my loves, the good ole game of basketball.
