Giants sweep Diamondbacks, home streak at 9 in a row

Hunter Pence got a funky RBI single (as he seems so apt to get) to start of the scoring in the first inning, then in the bottom of the third Panda hit a RBI single giving Pagan his second run of the game. Brandon Crawford's RBI single in the bottom of the fourth brought home Gregor Blanco and gave the home team a three run lead all they would need to win the game and sweep Arizona in the series. Arizona finally got on the board in the top of the sixth when Trumbo hit an RBI double to deep right center, surely breathing a sigh of relief as it was starting to look like they might get shut out two games in a row, this brought on the pitching change for the Giants as Machi relieved Peavy.
Peavy continued the roll San Francisco starting pitchers have been on, pitching 5.2 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 earned run, and collecting 8 strikeouts thursday afternoon.
The Giants continued the scoring in the bottom of the sixth with more small ball as Perez doubled to left scoring Ishikawa, later in the inning Buster Posey hit an RBI single to right to bring home Perez and Panik made it to third after a throwing error by Inciarte. A walk of the Panda and a following bases loaded walk of Hunter Pence brought in Panik bringing the score to 6-1.
Things almost got worrisome for the Giants in the top of the ninth with three well hit balls to center, one caught at the wall for a fly out, the next a home run for Lamb, and the last a well hit single, though the worries were short lived after two more outs.
All in all the Giants bats looked strong as they prepare for tomorrow's game against the Dodgers who are up two games for the Division lead, their only worry would certainly be their lack of a strong closing pitcher as even this afternoon was their only show of weakness on defense.
As far as hitting went tonight Giants managed twelve hits, Angel Pagan went 2/4 getting 2 runs, Buster Posey hit 3/5 getting one RBI, Hunter Pence hit 1/2 got 2 RBI's and 2 walks, Brandon Crawford hit 2/4 with one RBI, and Perez went 1/2 with 1 RBI.
On the Panda watch he went one out of four, an RBI and a walk, and to watch him play third base like a kung fu Panda is always enlightening.
