Cavaliers break the three point shot record as Hawks look ready to be swept again
Are the Cav's the Hawks kryptonite or is it just that this team cannot handle the true power of a NBA juggernaut in the playoffs, are the Hawks one of those teams that will be remembered by who they faced not what they accomplished? Though to be fair, the Cav's have owned them since LeBron returned to Cleveland from Miami, though it seems as if they are a talented enough team, yet something about Cleveland brings out less of a fight in this team it seems. Sure the headlines will read all about Cleveland hitting 25 three's in the game, the fact of the matter is I believe a certain fear of LeBron's overall awesome ability might have a play in this match up and it's lack of a challenge for Cleveland in general. Though who can really tell, I am just another drunk tapping on the keys of this laptop trying to make words have a voice to be heard, and in the end even if the Cav's have broken a record of the Warriors it is still not revenge for last year's Championship, and that story is still to written. On that note this particular Panda shall be out.

Damian Lillard heats up in 4th, Blazers win game 5
As the ashes fall from my cigarette onto an unkempt floor, mixing with previous debry next to empty whiskey bottles and beer cans, the stun fades as I realize what this young Blazer was able to accomplish in the fourth quarter after quite a mediocre previous three quarters. Draining four threes quickly almost with the speed I would empty shots, and scoring sixteen points in the final quarter after only scoring six points previously, it showed his true grit and desire to win. This a Blazer team that was considered to be in a rebuilding year when the season began, is now one win away from the second round of the NBA playoffs, and as an Oregon grown Panda that does bring a bit of joy to this libation drowned heart. Even with the disappointment of a lack of bourbon or even cheap scotch this Panda will survive tomorrow with a smile on my face thanks to another one of my loves, the good ole game of basketball. And on that note Panda out!

KU goes into the Championship game in their tournament
This is the year of the Jayhawk, despite the dystopian look to the cadaver filled room I write in like some blend of a Bukowski and a H.S.T. gonzo panda that at times I truly am inspired by, we are all lost if this panda can not call upon his mentors to help him through dry spells in his writing. Not unlike life in general, my Kansas team did not show their overall worth until I started drinking properly and watching the game, a few shots of scotch and a few smokes later the game seemed a lock, though when Bill Self felt comfortable with a 16 point lead with a minute and a half left on those hands of time things went a bit south, particularly in favor of the Waco boys. In the end I am still wearing my Jayhawks jersey with pride while downing a few more shots to remember we might still get the overall number one seed in the National Tournament, though in the end I should probably see who they will face off against tomorrow in the final, and see if they can both win 12 regular season championships as well as winning the conference tournament, for this is the age of competition, with tastes of what may be to come in the rest of March and hopefully April! Rock Chalk Jayhawk, and on that note Panda out!!!!

Jayhawks pull off impressive 2nd half comeback in Waco
Struggling on the boards, and having turnover troubles, this number two ranked team in the nation looked like they were going to lose this game after the end of the first half, though for a panda that has watched Bill Self coach the Jayhawks to 11 straight regular season conference championships I knew he had some special words to change the fate of this game. With great defense that in fairness did only start showing up after an 8 point deficit in the 2nd half with the Baylor Bears looking like their zone D was doing everything to stop the Kansas Jayhawks on their quest for 12 conference championships in a row, here they came with shut down D, and at one point giving Baylor a 6 minute drought in points. Even the announcers said at a point in the game they looked to be learning things they could use in March, which is nice to hear as a lifelong fan of this historic organization, though it will take a win against Texas Tech at the PHOG on Saturday for them to share the conference title, yes if they win one more out of the next three before the beginning of the conference tournament in Kansas City, they will be sharing a regular season conference title. Though in essence the Jayhawks this year want much more than that, that is only one of the stepping stones on their way to a hopeful national title, for what else do college basketball players really thirst for other than the top of the world in the NCAAM of basketball? So on that note, Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!!! Panda Out!!!

Peyton manning pays Carolina to drop footballs so he can walk off with two rings
As we all know this QB is a cheater that never got his fare shake in the face of critics, though today is finally when he pays for his radical idiocy, welcome sir to the relm of the cheaters hall of fame, you join your brother in these slimey halls, there was a time we thought you were above such things but now we know you are lower than a common slug. The days of maintaining the manning name have passed and now the name is synonymous with cheating and overall doucheatude, but we can't blame Peyton, it's just a fact of life, millennials will create such mediocrity without even trying. So hate me if you think I'm wrong, but we all know who cheated the sports gods today, and fuck off Zebra, on that note Panda out!!!!!!

Is Cam Newton ready?
Is he ready, or is Peyton finished? Are we ready for one of the best QB's in football history to be retired? I am not sure if I am, though I am prepared for one of the up and coming greats to prove he is ready to come to the grid iron with nothing but his strength and will, and prove he can fight with the greatest, this is why the television is turned on internationally for this stupid game. Why else would we get so excited about one of these sports with balls involved, well other than alcohol, gambling, and food? This will be the first Super Bowl with a 50 after it, or is it a L? Glad no one will be hating on the Pat's or Chickens this year, though seems like a lack of hate SB this year, though both teams seems deserving this year and I believe they will both run if it is something and goal with seconds on the clock, or maybe they might throw it since it's on the mind. So give thanks the panda can still operate a keyboard, and thank the sports gods we can still watch this sports for all those that left us too soon and will be watching with us next Superbowl Sunday, I love you all, Panda out!!!

Lo Cain is a hell of a drug!!!
Lorenzo Cain's incredible baserunning is a good part of the reason that there was no chance for a game 7 for the Blue Jays in the ALCS, of course there are numerous reasons why the Kansas City Royals are back to back American League Pennant winners, though this run from first to home off a single was a big part of it tonight. It also shows the determination of this team to get back to the World Series, it shows a hunger for something they feel they left on their plate last year, and it is a demonstration of what they will do to win it all and stop the drought since 1985. The fact that Davis could get out of the jam in the 9th with runners at 3rd and 1st with no outs is incredible all on it's own, though add the 45 minute rain delay and an extra 15 to 20 minutes waiting for the bottom of the 8th to finish up is jaw dropping, sure he has been a starting pitcher in the past but he is a closer these days and these things do make an arm a bit cold. To be fair the Blue Jays played a stellar series and nothing was given, though that speaks volumes to the talent and chemistry this Royal's team possesses. The Mets will be a difficult opponent, though I have every faith in the Royal's small ball approach, and their powerful bullpen, I do expect a good series, though I do have KC in 6 games as the AL team has home field advantage. This game 6 was the reason I watch baseball especially in October, and I expect some more nail biter's in the World Series, and on that note, Panda out!!!
